@visarts_rva: 🗣 PechaKucha PechaKucha (noun): A PechaKucha ABOUT PechaKuchas. Japanese for “chit-chat” (ぺちゃくちゃ), a PechaKucha is a style of fast-paced, energetic, highly visual slideshow presentation. Slides advance automatically, and presenters have a matter of seconds to talk the audience through each slide. Slides may include artwork, creative process, or anything that inspires the presenter. Like Brandon said: PechaKuchas don’t have to be about anything, they can be about everything! YOU’RE INVITED: Join us for our upcoming Community PechaKucha to enjoy presentations from VisArts’ community of artists. 📆 Fri, Sept 26, 5–7pm 📍 Visual Arts Center of Richmond 🎟️ Free + open to the public #rva #richmondva #pechakucha #rvatok

This brought up a core memory from grad school. My professor thought it was pronounced “peCHAW KUHchaw” and I can’t hear it any other way 😭

I did this as a 5th grade teacher during ELD time! Students got to pick what topic they wanted to teach the class about. I made it so each slide was 5 secs and there were 6 slides. Audience members gave feedback on presenter using Google form. One of my favorite things I did while teaching 5th grade!

I don’t understand why the number of seconds per slide correlates to the number of slides
