We were taught scripts instead of skills. We were trained to perform instead of feel. And somewhere along the way, we forgot we had a choice. So we end up on autopilot. We stay in jobs, relationships, or routines that feel empty. We disconnect from our bodies. We feel isolated. And worse, divided. That division is not an accident. Look around. Even if you are not fully updated on the news, you can feel it. The pressure. The stress. The sense that life is harder, scarier, more expensive, and more demanding. Divided, divided, divided. But here is the truth. Amidst all of this chaos, we still have the power to choose. To choose to practice pleasure instead of fear. To choose connection instead of division. To choose presence instead of performance. Pleasure is not indulgence. It is not for the privileged few. Pleasure is responsibility. It is the resource that grounds us, softens our defenses, and expands our capacity to connect with ourselves and with others. And this is not just about what happens in the bedroom.
