Same thing happens in US courts. The only people who get tough sentences there are black men for trivial reasons.

my sons birth father assaulted me to the extreme and tried to end my life when I was 2 months pregnant. when the rcmp found him, he was charged with agg assault with intent, unlawful confinement, threats and assault with a xxx weapon. he recieved 5 months. its been 17 years and he still has an obsession with doing it again. 3 years ago, he said some extremely violent things on fb about my son, and I had him charged. he was given 2 months. he has done the same thing to his mother, sister and other women and has been in and out of jail for the last 17 years. he is still walking the streets. he put a woman in a coma 2 Christmases ago and was released 1 and a half months later. he belongs in a supervised institution and I constantly fear for my life. bill c75 is a failure in regards to DV and does not put womens safety at the forefront. it needs to change immediately. Carney should have done this before summer vacation. but he doesn't care. the liberal government says they care about women's rights, but their actions say otherwise. this legislation better pass. or more women and children will suffer. thank you Pierre! 🥰 for listening to us.
