but I love that she said it was a work trip. because Charlie did work for Jesus. Everytime I see that deployment bag come out I hold my breath and pray until he comes home.

And its a weight that carries. You just have trust Jesus in everything you do and know that you will see them again. Its been almost 5 years and my kids woke up with the sheriff deputy telling me. Till this day I can hear their voices screaming.

My mom told me at 6 that my daddy went to help cut grass in Heaven for Jesus. My daddy loved riding a lawn mower. I cant imagine how hard that is for every mother that has to break that news to her kids.

I did it almost 4 years ago and they still cry out for him. Children never stop needing their father. It broke me to hear his daughter tried to run to him and that this happened right in front of them.

Yep. A little over 7yrs ago for me. As a toddler when my baby was asking for Dada I had to tell him dada lives with Jesus. As a mother it was literally one of the hardest parts of widowhood. To hold my kid as he cried wanting dada knowing he would never see dada again. He was a baby when dada was killed. But he never stopped asking for him. And at 8 he knows dada lives with Jesus and it still makes him sad. And it’s a pain like no other because I will never be able to fix this for him. Losing my husband was horrific. Holding my crying child who lost his dad….is a pain I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy.

21 yrs ago I had to tell 2 of my children their father went to be with God and the years of pain seen in their eyes I wish on absolutely no one.

As a daughter of one of those mothers, I couldn’t agree more with this statement. I was 14, my sister 9 and he died while out to sea. It changes you forever. As the mother and the child.
