It honestly frustrates me how the hobbit is hated on. They really are fantastic movies.

I feel like we need to talk about Bilbo’s experiences mirroring that of a war veteran’s more often, actually. He’s gone for nearly two years. He comes back and people are selling off his possessions because they thought he was dead. He tries to tell people it really did affect him and they brush him off. He doesn’t have anyone to turn to who knows what the journey was like aside from Gandalf, in the end. He wanted to return home so badly, but now he’s a stranger in it and nothing feels right anymore. You see the vision here
