Hi, I used to work doing that. Not for Google, for an outsourcing company that shall remain unnamed. The worst part was reviewing questions for safety because I had to read attempts by weirdos to abuse prompt engineering to make the model answer very disturbing/dangerous stuff.

Tech giants have repeatedly demonstrated they, like many in government, do what they want unless and until forced to do otherwise. They see the public as an obstruction to their amazing vision for the future they see themselves creating and use this as justification for not following the law, their “commitments” to customers, or norms. They see themselves in a race to save the planet or at least the human race if they feel Mars is a better bet.

I feel sorry for whoever has to go through my conversations with AI. They deserve a raise! 🤣 I often spend an hour just ranting about whatever is on my mind. With my adhd, I can switch subjects a dozen times in an hour. I can start with a question about my magnesium intake and end the convo talking about how bees 🐝 have little pollen pajama pants. 🤣

I do want to push the fact that they don't look at 99.999% of conversations that they harvest from users with that slider on. They probably look at an average of 1 per few hundred thousands conversations that happen.
