This is my stepdad’s brother in law who was run over. He was picking up his timing equipment from the previous event. He’s in his 70s. This was NOT the starting point of their race. The event was not supposed to start while they were all out there. They broke out of the gate and ran him over. And didn’t even check on him afterwards. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital where he was then lifeflighted to Portland with a broken vertebraes- c2, a concussion, and broken blood vessel in his back. Could’ve been much worse, we are thankful he’s okay after surgeries. This was NOT his fault at all. He’s been doing this for yeeeeaaaars. He is well aware of the dangers. This was negligent on the rodeo’s behalf.

FOR the people who clearly didn't watch the video carefully and saying "she could've control her horse and turn" the other rider was close to her SO she couldn't turn and had no choice to jump her horse over the fence

I live in Pendleton and every year something like this happens. My dad worked on the fence crew for the bucking broncs and bulls when I was in high school and a bull broke through the fence one year on tough enough to wear pink day and threw my dad up in the air about 15 feet and when he landed he broke his shoulder and 3 ribs. I’ll add a pic if I can find one.
