I hold this cup, once filled with coffee, its bitterness soaking into me like memories I could not wash away. I pour water over it—again, again, and again—until the surface runs clear. But even in its clearness, I taste what lingers, a ghost of what once was. That’s when I realize—healing is not just refilling, not just drowning the past in something new.
