So I hear the difference but I still don’t know what makes the difference. The internet isn’t helping. But with the fiddle I hear more double stringing, less vibrato, less precise tuning and more rhythm.

Don't know about the instruments. But the difference between the players is that fiddle player can usually do what the violinist does. Violinist then again cannot do what the fiddle player does🤷
