People don’t realize how common choking really is and how important it is to have tools like a suction device on hand. I lost my husband this way at a restaurant where the Heimlich failed because the food was completely stuck. Watching this hit me hard, but I’m so glad your husband is okay. 💔🙏

I know it’s different when performing the heimlich on a pregnant person, but it never occurred to me that a pregnant person could need to perform the heimlich.

This reminded me of the time with my ex-husband. We just had our last baby. 6 kids all watching! Did the Heimlich and He was still struggling and throwing up blood had to be rushed to the hospital. He had aspirated on a piece of corn!!

when i was ten my mom made all of us older girls who were always babysitting our little brothers learn the Heimlich maneuver and CPR, the next day my little brothers snuck 2 peppermints (the traditional white and red hard candy) and choked on them. his face was purple and wasn’t making a noise. scariest day ever. i remember it like it was yesterday. i’m 23 now. and renew my CPR/AED certification every 2 years now. never know when it will save a life.
