The oppressive system survives and maintains control by dishing out and reabsorbing a calculated amount of self-critique for its subjects to consume. Projects like Andor, as great as they are, are means for the oppressive ruling class to placate the oppressed masses. Andor is one of many pressure release valves controlled by the system.
