@numbersevenguy: I’ve been vocal about how people should look deeper into what Charlie Kirk was saying about Israel .. both after October 7 and in more recent weeks. He was questioning things that most conservatives wouldn’t dare say out loud. I think that matters. I think people should’ve paid attention. But I’m also sharing this video because how he spoke about Palestine, Muslims, and Islam cannot be ignored. In this clip, Charlie jokes about people in Gaza being thrown off roofs for being gay, then says it wouldn’t happen now because “there are no tall buildings left.” That’s not just insensitive … it’s dehumanizing. Mocking the destruction of a besieged population, knowing tens of thousands have died, and many of them children, says something deep about a person’s character. To those who are calling out liberals for celebrating Charlie’s death .. I hear you… we shouldn’t celebrate someone dying. But not mourning someone is not the same as celebrating them being gone. I’ve seen people comparing him to Jesus. I’ve seen people saying he was never hateful, never racist. But this video proves otherwise. If you’re going to ask for compassion for Charlie, ask yourself where his compassion was for the people of Gaza. ⸻ • upwards of 80,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza .. many of them children. (reports are now saying it’s likely closer to half 1 million due to indirect deaths from disease, injuries and illness.) • More than 69% of all buildings in Gaza are damaged or destroyed. • Gaza has the highest number of amputees per capita in the world. • Entire families have been erased. Children have been orphaned in the thousands. Some reports say around 19,000 children have lost one or both parents. A person who can laugh about that .. on a public platform .. cannot be separated from the harm of their words. You don’t have to celebrate his death.
