This is a great advice... when you are speaking to anyone older than 25. If you try and cold open a convo to someone in HS or College chances are you're never gonna wanna talk to a stranger again

Disliking social interactions(with a few exceptions) is one of the biggest copes I see and hear on a regular basis. You don't hate socializing, you're just addicted to TikTok, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Doordash. As someone with social anxiety though, social interactions for me are akin to pushing a large rock down a steep hill. The hardest part by far is initiating the conversation. I have a similar story. I was at a laundromat while on a work trip just doing my laundry minding my business. I struck up a conversation with the guy who ran the place. He was just waiting for someone he could talk to. He went to his trunk, pulled out laminated articles of him receiving very high military awards. Turns out the laundromat guy was a decorated war hero. He made my day and I’m pretty sure I made his two. Mind you this was like 15 years ago, so it definitely stuck with me. Love this brother
