Is changing his shape really under the same vein as him actually performing IT? I only ask as when Mahito split himself into two in Shibuya, his double could still change his own shape, but couldn’t transfigure humans like usual. When Nobara calls the Mahito double out for not being able to use IT, he more or less confirms it.

I think it has something to do with him always having transfigured humans, he maybe able to replenish his cursed energy with that? That’s why when Yuji hit the black flash, he tried throwing up more but he couldn’t
