@yellowtuxjesse: From Day 1, Dana White and the UFC thought differently than most sports. They were in the attention getting business and obsessed over how to make it best for fans. We share this obsession and aren't afraid to change the game to get there. Often, the only way to do that is to disrupt yourself. When we started, we played traditional baseball and we were selling out every single game and had a very healthy business. But we saw a better experience for fans. A game that was faster, more exciting and filled with non-stop entertainment. So we pivoted dramatically. We left our safe traditional league and went out on our own playing a new sport that no one had ever seen before. It's been messy and challenging every step of the way...but the vision is greater than any adversity that comes our way. And that's why we keep going and keep pushing when it's hard and often misunderstood and criticized by others.

I read somewhere that the players only get paid about $25,000 for a 9 month contract. Do they also earn commission or receive a percentage of ticket sales as well? 25k seems awfully low for how many tickets and merch sell. Wouldn’t have this without the fans but the players are just as important.
