no this is so true. why is every task in retail something that has to be done NOW and IMMEDIATELY. I could be in the middle of something else entirely and my manager will come and ask me to do something else because it just HAS to be done. does it? does it have to? who will perish if this doesn't happen?

We had a fire in our store and multiple customers said “I need to just pay and then I’ll leave, I don’t have time to come back” forcing employees to stay in the building as they fought to stay during an actual fire

Our store had a fire and the customers were screaming at us because they were worried they couldn’t use their coupon that expired that day 🙃🙃

We had a women come in an hour before close, it was just me a manger and a second employee, she asked where the scissors where and my coworker led them over there and then walked away to go back to what she was doing. Turns out she took the scissors tried stabbing/chocking the only customers in the store and then threatened my manger when she was on the phone with 911 and leading her out of the store. She had already been harassing people in the store next to us so the police were already on their way. But my manager ended up calling the store manager instead of the guy that’s supposed to handle more immediate threads. And she got talking to you about how she wasn’t supposed to call the store manager while she’s literally crying because she almost got stabbed. We also ended up having to continue to close the store and put go back away and recover once the police got there since we were still open.

The mall I work at had a 🔫🔫 and by the time it got cleared out we still had 2 hours of business left. The company wanted us the open back up since we missed 5 hours of business left

I’ve had a customer bring in a child who threw up all over the merch on summer. I was sales supervisor in training for manager. The panic from the parents was priceless

Very luckily at a local McDonalds drive through a guy behind noticed the car infront was smoking from the back and went up and said to the woman to get her and the kids out of the car and staff rushed out to clear the drive through lane. getting all to safety just before the car fully caught on fire and set the building on fire too.
