If an MP obtains classified intelligence information to which they are not authorised, that is covered by s 26(1) of the Intelligence Services Act (unauthorised possession/disclosure by non-members or members/former members).
If they then disclose it without lawful permission, that is a criminal offence under s 26(1)(a)/(g).
On conviction, s 26(2) allows for a fine or imprisonment. The exact sentence would depend on how serious the disclosure was (harm caused, scope, whether intentional etc).

True, Adams acted recklessly. As a lawmaker he should know better, his conduct is simply unacceptable and could risk national security. He should be prosecuted

Ian cameran you failed to investigate the executive director of ipid after we lodged a complaint of corruption ,defeating the ends of Justice ,derailing a criminal investigation
defeating the end of Justice
why Ian Cameran ignored such a serious complaint ?

So basically you are saying that if he had evidence of a crime he should not have reported it, he should have handed it to a committee to bury it?

He is wrong on how he handled the evidence, further the manner in which he says he came in possession of this evidence is also questionable.

Why is the focus on process and procedure. It is important but more important than the contents of the documents?
