@mxangiec: His name is tainted and it will always stay that way, just cause he turned into a force ghost doesn’t mean the whole galaxy will forgive him #starwars #starwarsfan #starwarstiktok

I like his ending because the question wasn’t “can he redeem himself?” it was “is there any good left in him?” which is what Luke asks throughout the saga. Is there any man left or is it only machine? And his ending answers that.

Yeah, killing the emperor and saving his son doesn’t make up for the multiple genocides and decades of oppression he inflicted upon the galaxy.

as inconsistent as Legends stuff is, I appreciate that Leia never really forgave Vader for all the terror he did and Luke understanding how she feels. She never got to connect with him like Luke did so she always saw him as what he was, an evil person.

Yeah thats kinda the point. He committed atrocities and held the galaxy with Sidious under an iron grip, but in killing the Emperor and giving his life, he also freed it. Just as he facilitated the annihilation of the Jedi so too did he the Sith, hence why it's stated he brought balance to the Force.

I think the most fitting punishment is if he’s eternally trapped in the world between worlds unable to effect the galaxy but forced to watch all of time including every one of his evil deeds for eternity

He was redeemed but he didnt atone for his sins. I suppose suffering like he did was atonement enough to some degree

The Force considered him redeemed; it doesn’t mean the rest of the galaxy has to agree as well.

I think there he was never meant to be 'redeemed' in a way that the galaxy could have accepted but more in a way of Vader himself reflecting on his actions.

He didn’t redeem himself, but he came back to the light and still had good in him, proving Padme and Luke correct. But one good act wouldn’t redeem him, just bring him back to the light.

he was redeemed because he realized the error of his ways, then died. if he didn't die readjusting course he wouldn't have been redeemed

its not about redemption it's more about "never too late to do the right thing". Anakin was brought back to the light by his son after realizing he's lived an awful evil life. he reconnected to the light and the force and was able to become one with the living force simply because he's that powerful. it's not like Christianity where you atone for your sins and forgiven. we see the fallout of vaders evil in the new Republic and the first order
