So why should that be a “black womans” burden to bear now before you say that’s not what you meant the target in your video is black woman …we get handed this long list of things to accept from black men it’s a different goal post everyday instead of this video targeting black woman this should have been a video encouraging them to be up front and honest and to try other races that may be accepting

This is the same reasoning for why people are not upfront about having stds. They dont want their options limited so they dont disclose their status. All cycles will continue until people learn to love themselves and learn that rejection doesnt affect their value.

It’s more complicated then that I believe I feel as though it starts in the home first, black men aren’t dl because black women don’t date bisexual men, it has more to do with home environments and the homophobia perpetuated by family members. In addition to the promotion of hypermasculinity in our community amongst black men. plenty of openly bisexual men are fine and dandy and out even in the face of casual homophobia by black women/heterosexual black women not wanting to date bi men. That is due partially in my opinion to people’s home environments being non hostile. However Hostile Familial environments, hostile religious environments and black “machismo”hyper masculinity creates more dl men than just casual homophobia found in dating preferences in my opinion.

you look like my cousin + completely agree, I been saying this. We can't keep treating "DL" men as if they're some sort of unique epidemic of cheaters and liars as opposed to bisexual men forced into the closet and made to perferm masculinity. It also plays into the biphobic and homophobic rhetoric that black men spread AIDS to black women by being DL or, worse, that they do so intentionally. That lie has set us back decades and what drives me crazy is that it's based off of ONE woman's experiene in the early 2000s 😭 until black women can stomach the idea of a man being bisexual, bisexual men will lie to them. I think it's also important to remember that the betrayal is in the cheating, not who he cheated with. A lot of DL men just so happen to be manipulators and narcissists and they would be that way whether they liked men or not 😭

Let’s not act like gay black men don’t weaponize DL black men. You guys are one of the reason (not the only reason) why they hide their sexuality. You guys hold it over their heads, threaten to expose them, you’ve spent the last 30 plus years telling black women to watch out for them.
