Surya Namaskar, or Sun Salutation, is a moving meditation that honours the inner and outer source of light and prepares the body and mind for practice. It’s how we awaken energy and presence at the start of our Yogasana. In this video, I’m demonstrating one round of Surya A and one of Surya B in the Vinyasa Krama style I usually practise. Each pose follows the breath, with a 5-breath hold in Downward Dog, as in Ashtanga. Normally, we do 3 to 5 rounds of each to fully warm up, but here, it’s shortened to suit the video format. #suryanamaskar #sunsalutation #yogasana
