There was a period on TikTok (I think 2021-2022?) where black (AFRICAN AMERICAN) people would share tutnese on here and white ppl in the comments would beg to learn, literally beg and say how language should be shared. Seen it with my own eyes.

I’ve kept my heritage, I’m a direct decent of the Gullah/geechee people, slaves from west Africa that were brought to the costal states, they created creole, but also kept west Africans traditions and language its whybm creole exist

Tut is alive and well. We have over 250 videos on our TikTok channel and close to 400 videos on Speak Tut on Patreon and it is 100% about Tut. We create resources in the same spirit of Gloria Mcilwain who gave public lectures, demonstrations, wrote a book that is housed in universities and public libraries and in the Library of Congress. She had a website that is still available that teaches the basics and spent 30+ years trying to spread Tut awareness. She is the major reason people know about the language.
