A man discovered a large number of bodies hidden in his own walls#movie #tiktokgemscontest #fpyシ
This beautiful common wall gecko (Tarentola mauritanica) came by my balcony while I was in Spain. This species of gecko, which is native to the western Mediterranean area of North Africa and Europe is known to venture into urban areas and this is why I found it in my house (which made me very happy because this species of gecko is really really beautiful). . Geckos always fascinated me for their incredible ability to walk on walls and on ceilings. They can do this because their legs have evolved amazing foot pads. These foot pads contain small hair-like structures that cover the base of their toes. . Scientists realized that these hairs increase the contact area between each foot pad and the surface that the geckos are trying to climb. The reason why these hairs help geckos to attach to surfaces is by producing more Van der Waals forces of attraction between the atoms of the numerous hairs and the surface that they are walking on. Amazing!! . By the way, in Spanish this gecko is called “salamanquesa”. And there are lots of legends associated with these animals in Spain. For example, in the old times they used to say that if a “salamanquesa" spat at you, you would become bald and if they spat in your eyes, you would become blind. But the funniest and most macabre of all the legends is that “salamanquesas” will try to get into your body orifices (mouth, nostrils, ears, or other more private orifices!!) so that they can reach your brain or other organs and eat them up!! . To learn more about how geckos walk on walls, you can read this paper: Savage, N. Synthetic coatings: Super surfaces.
