My therapist once told me that overcompensating in relationships is often a sign of a lack of self-love. When you feel like you have to buy, build, or over-give just to be loved, it usually means you don’t fully believe you’re enough as you are. I’ve been there too, but therapy is teaching me that real love doesn’t require me to exhaust myself to earn it. 💕 It’s okay to support your partner, but losing yourself in the process is never love. And it’s also okay if you’ve made these mistakes before…many of us have. What matters is forgiving yourself, because you only did what you knew at the time. With time and healing, you learn to love and accept yourself more, and that’s when you realize you never have to overcompensate just to be worthy of love. 🥺🌸
