Ever wonder why your eyes stay puffy even after a full night’s sleep? 👀✨ The truth is, it’s often not the eyelid skin itself but the drainage system behind it. The trapezius, SCM and back of the neck muscles can hold so much tension that they compress the pathways of your internal jugular vein and deep cervical lymph nodes - the main highway that clears your face. The problem doesn’t stop there. Tight suboccipital muscles at the base of your skull (often from forward-head posture) shorten and stiffen, further restricting venous outflow. And because the ophthalmic veins around your eyes are valveless, any backup in flow shows up quickly as swelling and heaviness in the eye orbit. That’s why just massaging your eyelids won’t fix it for long. You need to open the path: This is exactly what I call the Unlocking Path routine - a step-by-step sequence that clears the way from shoulders → neck → skull → eyes so your face can drain naturally.
