To stop the RF coming back put in an air choke close to the base of the antenna if possible or ferrite barrels inline

No, this is a mistaken understanding of SWR. SWR, mainly how well matched in the transition line and the transmitting or receiving equipment. A dummy load has a near perfect SWR but does not read it at all.

Inaccurate. A dummy load can give good SWR, but not an antenna. You also have to deal with the resonance frequency. It's a complicated thing. 73!
