@anissuewithkodi: These were my Dystonic Storms last night. As you can see, it's the same group of muscles contracting over and over. These storms were thankfully rather mild and not too rough physically, but I wanted to share the bizarre nature of the repeated movement over and over without having muscle tone to move the rest of my body in a way that I want to. I am conscious the whole time - I can hear everything and feel the burning sensation all over my body. Sometimes I can talk during storms, sometimes it's slurred, sometimes I can't engage the muscles of my mouth to say anything. Last night I kept flipping between these and drop attacks (when I lose all muscle tone like you would if you fainted, except I'm conscious). Dystonia can be caused by a variety of deficiencies, mine happens to be deoxygenation in my brain. These episodes take a toll on me and my family. The pain inside my head is so intense and then if I have to pee or eat, I'm unable to do so on my own. Vertigo gets pretty bad and I end up very exhausted. And at this point in my life, it doesn't take much to get me here.
