@honestlyadri_: The best + easy carnitas recipe🤎👇🏼INGREDIENTS 3-4lbs Pork butt/shoulder( you have to use pork butt or pork shoulder for this recipe. Other cuts of pork will not work) 2-3lbs of lard(you need to make sure you have enough lard in the pot so that you can fully submerge the pork and cook it evenly) 1 cup water with 1 tablespoon salt 1 bottle of Mexican cola( has to be Mexican cola. It needs to have cane sugar in it not corn syrup like they use here in the US) 2 oranges 1 onion 2 heads of garlic Bay leaves Heat the lard over medium high heat . Cut the pork into 3 inch sized chunks. Add the pork to the lard. It should start to sizzle immediately and if it doesn’t you need to increase the heat. Fry the pork it’s golden and crispy. For me this takes about one hour. Reduce the heat to low, medium . Then add the salt water, Coke, oranges, onion, garlic, and Bay leaves. Bring to a simmer and continue cooking until the meat is very tender. This takes about one to one and a half hours. When the pork is ready, you’ll be able to shred the meat easily with a fork.
