Unpopular opinion: what he said was fair. Was it harsh? Absolutely. But it’s what 90% of women need to hear. We aren’t meant to give ourselves away easily and to everyone, and there are consequences when we do. As a God fearing woman, Taylor knows this. Just because he was present doesn’t mean he isn’t toxic. The words he felt comfortable speaking to you in front of all those people and CAMERAS are absolutely unacceptable for a parent to say to a child. You can’t heal in the same environment that broke you.

Taylor I love you and respect you. Your dad can be a great man and father but in this scene he was absolutely wrong. They all were. You didn’t deserve this at all. And for the world to see. But I’ve seen in interviews that he regrets this and you all have moved on and that’s great. And if you have forgiven him then we all need to as well. It was just super hard to watch you be treated like that.

Sometimes parents are harsh but all they want is for us to live a good, safe and dignifying life. Half of people trying to drive a wedge between Taylor and her parents, don't even have a dad. Not saying parents shouldn't apologize, just saying they love Taylor, it's their daughter. Their words came from a place of wanting her to get better and make better life decisions.
