a year or two ago one of our saguaro cactus was hit by lightning it knocked some of the arms off and burned 2 arms it rotted the inside and because of the size and its proximity to the electric wires it had to be professionally removed. we moved it out of the yard.

Last year a tall palm tree behind my house was hit and the energy traveled to the gas line and it burst into flames. Burned for hours til SW Gas could turn off the main. The fire dept kept a water stream on the line the whole time.

Let the arm scab over and replant them. It’s probably impossible to tell because it was blown up but the arms need to face the direction they were before they blew up maybe try to match up and see if they were south facing or whatever direction

If you set the arms aside and let them crust over, you should be able to replant them. Just make sure you replant them facing in the same direction they were growing. Poor mama saguaro.

yeah my parking spot was in front of a saguaro. it was so dry 2 yrs ago one fell. I changed my spot. I kid you not,one of my workers come in next day telling me that my 🌵 fell.
