I’d say the same with L&D and NICU. Having the docs right there is clutch.

I agree. This is how I felt going from telemetry to ER. telemetry was a nightmare… god forbid your patient is decompensating on a tele, PAs no where to be found / have an attitude when you page them or straight up won’t come to the bedside. 😭

I definitely don't think ICU is easier but they definitely have a lot more resources on deck. I've noticed that in the transition I made from med surg/tele to medical oncology. EVERYONE is there from doctors, specialists, pharmacists/chemo pharmacists, educators, etc.

Icu I’m more anxious and everything requiring q1 interventions is more mentally hard because they will crash hard. Med surg I don’t stress as much because the worst thing to happen if a patient complaining, I know they won’t die in one second if I do something else.
