if we did a boat tour in Breda i would say : this used to be a important Castle ( Castle of Breda) but William of Orange and Spain were no longer on friendly terms and William fled and never came back ....

She’s right! It’s called the Stopera - a combination of an opera and City Hall. The name actually came from the protest slogan ‘Stop the Opera’. It was built right in the old Jewish quarter, which had lost most of its inhabitants after the war. And Stopera is what everybody calls it to this day and hopefully forever.
