it is a bit tricky. This could help hire more American workers, good. But when it comes to paying wages for foreigners, it is different, if our currency is much stronger, paying same amount could create an unfair power for that foreigner working here relative to their countrymen, which has potential to cause problems elsewhere, disrupt their economy, cause unwanted jealousy, etc. When dealing with situations like that, I know one volunteer place that pays a fair wage, like 3x their local min wage for certain artistic work. It's fair and enough to help them get on their feet. If salary too high, it could out price the workers it meant to help, if everyone else gets $10/hr (in local currency) and you find working for American company nets you like $1000 hour, everyone will rush to get the job, or neighbors may get jealous If it s a poor country could lead to crime. Perhaps something like that
