Once saw a kid on a train platform wearing a leash, and I was being a bit quietly judgy about it. Then the kid tried to leap down on the tracks and the leash kept him safely on the platform. Parents know their kids.

as a kid, I wondered why a parent would ever use a leash. as a teen and now adult, I get why. Kids with autism, add, or really most toddlers in general, get distracted or see things they want. even if a child knows better, it also just keeps them safe. No one is going to take a child when they are attached to the parent.

as a kid, my nan used a leash on me whenever she took me out whike she was babysitting me, especially when she also had my baby sister in a pram. I think it was like a body harness, rather than this type, but served the same purpose. I'm forever grateful to her for it! She protected toddler me in a way that also allowed her to give attention to the baby, and I never got into any trouble or accidents (except a scraped knee or two, maybe) 👍

I am a nanna of 64 my 3 rear old grandaughter os fast on her legs and does npt see danger .i bought her a back pack and it has a strap at the back to hold onto .her saftey is my priotity not other peoples opinions .

I think this is brilliant idea. Once, I saw how a child run after something from the sidewalk straight into the busy street from his mother. If driver wouldn't react quickly, it would be over. Mom snatch him away in seconds, but still. That's why I am into leashes and other things what would keep child close and safe
