@sp1d3rp4rks: 𓆝 𓆟 #isaacnight 𓆝 𓆟 The way Isaac is plotting in the cabin, saying “…and that emotional weakness will be our checkmate”—in reference to the Addams—is genuinely the greatest foreshadowing of the finale. When he says that, he seals his fate. The reason he dies is because of his emotional weakness (his lack thereof, his inability to accept his humanity, his absolute disdain for Morticia, his view of his own body as worthless after it was stripped of its power). He checkmated himself. He placed himself in a corner, and was unable to succeed in his plans, because he became emotional, irrational even. He was driven mad by his need for revenge. He was basically seeing red, desperately trying to regain control while yearning to wreak havoc on those he felt betrayed him. And, within those moments too, he felt regret. He tried so eagerly to reenact what had once failed—trying to kill gomez (pugsley), trying to save his sister (tyler). But, this time around, his emotions got in the way. Not Morticia. Him. He clung to his past actions and thought he could get away with it, but he couldn’t. He was doomed to repeat his mistakes. Except he was given the opportunity to change. Even still, he didn’t, he couldn’t. Because although his walls were crumbled and his heart was on his sleeve, he needed control. He thought he had control.
