I speak Arabic as a second language (my kids are Saudi) and while my accent is really good, I'm definitely not fluent. So I just learned to say "slow down please, I'm not fluent yet" 😅. Most people are happy to do that and proud of you for continuing learning! The more you hear, the more you speak, the closer you get to fluency and find confidence in being "just" proficient 🌺🌺🌺 your efforts are so beautiful xoxoxo

I doubt you'll see this but I'm half Japanese and when my dad immigrated to the states when he was a child and absolutely refused all Japanese influences, thus I also grew up without it. it wasn't until I was an adult I really started researching my own culture. I'm 6'2 and dont look very Asian so I also feel like a fraud. however, if I dont learn about and pass our culture to my daughter, it'll die with me. I'm with you on this journey!

I feel this so much. I recently took on a job at a dentist office and there is SO MUCH SPANISH. It’s helped me practice but I feel so much imposture syndrome 😭😭
