Definitely not about the money. All the reasons you listed make it worth it but also the school kiddos. I find myself crying every year on the last day I miss them once they go on to the next grade.

I thought the same thing 13 years ago when I started and had young children. But fast forward my children are grown and the pay is terrible. We are worth so much more. Consider becoming a teacher!

This!!!! Idk if I only brought home pocket change, getting to be so deeply involved in their lives is worth it to me! My birthed children are number one but those school kids have become like my second set of kids who I love just as much!!!

I wish this is how I'd feel about my job as a para. my first year was the best ever....each year has gotten worse since then. it's so bad right now. we get zero support and are treated poorly. it's quite sad.

I’m a single mom and a PreK para and because of the pay I’m having to leave a job and team that i absolutely love because they refuse to pay paras what we are worth. It’s killing me on the inside. I’ve been with my team for 4 years and have loved every minute of it.
