She was diagnosed with schizophrenia. She didn’t take her medication. She brought her son to the park where he died from hypothermia and dehydration. She took an Alfred plea for manslaughter however, she served zero time in jail or a hospital, which she should’ve been in as long as she agrees to take her medicine for the next five yearsshe should’ve been hospitalized and treated not on an outpatient basis. She had him in the swing for 44 hours.

If this was Maryland then they are referring to Charles County and yes unfortunately the 3yr old died from dehydration and hypothermia while at the park. Because of the mother's mental health it was very sad.
