@erinwinick: I wanted to post an updated version of this video because I know a lot of people are leaving NASA right now, whether by choice or not. I left by choice in 2023 in order to go full time as an independent science communicator running my own business, but the sadness and uncertainty was still there. I was honestly too embarrassed to post these clips right then. NASA is an incredible organization full of wonderful people that are hard to part from, and I had many people's dream job. But when I went back to Johnson Space Center yesterday to cover the astronaut selection ceremony, someone asked me if I missed working there. My honest answer was, no. Yes I miss the amazing people I got to work with at NASA, but I have found a career path full of adventure that I feel like is really making an impact. And that just suits me! The fact that it brings me back to JSC at least once a year is also pretty wonderful. To still have a touch point with the agency and continue to help spread the amazing science it is doing from the outside is really a dream come true. For those that may be parting with NASA, I'm thinking of you all. I hate that it is happening like this, but I hope you are able to look back in a few years happy with where you have ended up as well. Whether that journey brings you back to NASA or not.
