Could not agree with you more! I thought I “beat” PPD and then BAM it hit me at 3 months PP.

Routine comes around 6-8 months in my opinion! Once sleep evens out you can get a workout in before he wakes up and still get to prioritize spending time with him. You’re doing great 🫶🏻

Our kiddos were born on the same day. I relate so much! I just reached out to start medication because my PPA have been “atypical”. I was anxious about him not napping well enough but not to go on a plane. Glad to see how the medication will help!

My mental health took a hit right when my baby hit 4 months and I went back to work. Sending him to daycare and having to spend 8 hours per day at work SENT me. He is almost 6 months now, and I still feel like we are in survival mode!

I feel like it hit me when I went back to work. The age of baby and then adding on work and new routines it was hard.

Worst thing is they don’t do any kind of check in after that first pp visit, or at least mine didn’t, so I had to struggle without knowing it wasn’t the way it “supposed” to be as a new mom to cry all the time and want to 🎲 but having it start after that pp appt

You articulated this so well. Trying to stay consistent while being a full time working mom and still spend really quality time with my baby is so difficult.

It hit me hard and fast after my May birth and I kind of expected it since I have regular anxiety and depression, but the post partum rage I experienced at anyone who wasn’t my baby is what freaked me out….like who is this person? Surely not me? Meds helped a lot though!

That stage was so hard I obsessed with sleep for a solid month until I finally did sleep training and got the wake window schedule figured out to get back to better sleep

Tell me about doing daycare at such a young age. My first didn’t go until 18m but my newborn will be going at 4m and I need perspective from someone currently doing it. Sorry to change the subject 😅

I didn’t even realize I had PPD/PPA after I went back to work with my first because it was pretty minor and I just assumed I was sad to leave her. After I had my second I realized that it was much more than just being sad about leaving her.

I see a lot of myself from 9.5 years ago wishing so hard for structure and answers and to know wtf was going on and wtf would happen tomorrow… you’ll find the groove and the routine, I promise. And he will get out of the regression (maybe a couple of weeks?) and then he will throw something else at you 🤪 Yay for therapy and meds, have you thought about meditation? That can help you kind of go with the insane flow. And let me tell you, my kids are 9.5 and 6 and they keep throwing me curve balls 😬 But they are awesome people and those baby cuddles go so fast, so as hard as this time is, know that you will get through it, and there’s more great stuff to come. You’ve got this.
