Yes the traditional way is to just use butter and parm but this is america. Im making a parm sauce and im putting chicken in it. If you insist ill start calling it freedom'redo instead. Traditional is not always the best.

Nothing wrong with heavy cream, it’s the Italian American version, the Italian version is indeed just cheese and butter and real Italians usually only eat it when they are having stomach problems.
