This is the seventh case of violent crime in Singapore for 2024. On October 21, 50-year-old Toh Chee Hong, wearing a red polo shirt and black shorts, became the main suspect in a shocking incident that left the Clementi community in disbelief. The tragedy involved 41-year-old grassroots volunteer Winson Khoo. A confrontation between the two men quickly spiraled out of control. Witnesses described the distressing scene: Khoo, in a desperate attempt to get away, was chased by Toh from a pickup point between Blocks 311B and 311C, near the Trivelis Residents’ Network office. Khoo tripped by a drain, where Toh allegedly delivered multiple blows, as stunned residents, including Khoo’s spouse, cried out for help. A parking attendant tried to intervene, and residents urgently called for assistance, but despite all efforts, Khoo’s condition was critical. Paramedics performed chest compressions, but he was later pronounced deceased at the hospital. Toh then left the area and attempted to drive away, even colliding with another vehicle at a nearby car park. Police managed to intercept him as he exited, placing him under arrest. Authorities later shared that both men were familiar figures within the community. The People’s Association paid tribute to Khoo, known for his active involvement as vice-chairman in the community, but clarified that Toh had no formal connections to their activities. Toh was formally charged on October 23, and just days later, he was brought back to the scene to assist police in reconstructing what happened. The motive for the attack is still being investigated. #TrueCrime #crime #singapore #learningisfun
