@calder1e: I tried to cancel my membership on medical grounds and was told I couldn’t cancel unless I “can’t walk.” That comment was cruel, humiliating, and ableist. When I escalated it, I was dismissed and argued with by Guneet, the club owner. Instead of support, I was treated with hostility and contempt. Jessie and Tiffany only reinforced that dismissiveness. This isn’t about money. It’s about basic respect and dignity. No one deserves to be laughed at, silenced, or discriminated against when they are vulnerable. Ableism isn’t always visible — but it’s always harmful. Do better, Fernwood.
