'Disorder' is just what they call it when people struggle to work within socially acceptable norms. So if a decent chunk of the population is 'disordered', maybe that's a sign that those norms aren't working anymore.

May be a hot take, but I don’t understand the huge fascination the US has with providing a “cause” for autism. Some people have it some people don’t. Some people have blonde hair and some have brown. It’s a fact. We know how to diagnose now and in cases where intervention is needed, we have developed ways to provide that. I can understand wanting to understand the how’s and whys (like how science has studied other neurological conditions) but I’m over how every other month the US is spouting off some “cause” with no evidence just to point the blame somewhere else.
