The pain I felt as a psychology major when Freud somehow also found his way into my World Mythology class, Ethics class, and Sociology class too. I can't escape him for even one semester, even in non psych courses.

I’m a psychology major but I’m taking criminology classes and my professor said one class “and I’m sorry for what we’re about to talk about for you psych majors” and the next slide was Sigmund Freud and I fucking lost it

I once had to do a presentation on him… 4-5 years in a row. Kept getting assigned him no matter how hard I begged to do someone else. I started using the same presentation for each one and nobody caught on.

I was both a psych major and an English major. All my English professors LOVED bringing Freud up and I made it my mission to get them to stop. His ideas were either fully stolen from older philosophers or wrong and none of them were provable. It became a joke. When an English professor was about to bring up Freud they’d look at me and tell me to plug my ears. One of them would bring up Freud if I was being too quiet because he liked that I’d genuinely argue with him about it.
