Ok but the fact the tarrasque could only actually be killed in 3.5 was to cash wish or miracle on its remains is so much more daunting than the lame 5e version

Still love that the closest the Lady Of Pain has to a stat block is "your players lose. the end"

Calling the Tarrasque mortal when literally its "entire" schtick is that its rules specifically states it can't die & if it should die somehow it immediately resurrects...that's rich coming from the Red Lizard vulnerable to Blizzards.

Lady of Pain, the ruler of Sigil, is the only creature that exists in D&D lore who has never received a stat block, making her the strongest. If you can stat it, you can kill it.

The funny thing is that Critical Hits were easier to achieve in 3.5e, which is why there were such insanely powered monsters. There were weapons that scored a crit on a roll of 19 or 20 on the d20 without any modifications. Add to that, the Keen enchantment doubled a weapon's crit range, so now you're scoring a criti on a roll of 17 or higher on the d20. Then there was the Improved Critical feat, which did the same thing, and it did stack with the Keen enchantment. Depending on how your DM ruled, it could mean "add another 2 to the crit range" or "double it all over again." For the former, that meant a critical hit on a natural roll of 15 or higher; and 12 or higher for the latter. Get a Keen Vorpal Greatsword and have the Improved Critical: Greatsword feat, and now you're just decapitating everything as long as you roll within whichever range your DM ruled for this combo. 3e and 3.5e Monsters were crazy OP because the players were usually able to break the game by level 10.
