I get to have a biopsy of my uterus next week and my husband who’s a nurse asked me if I was getting twilight or anesthesia…..I just laughed and laughed. He was horrified when I told him we get nothing.

As an OB I'm guessing they are only screening for HPV. Unfortunately we need to view the cervix for a complete exam. Metal, plastic etc that's why we use the speculum. I'm not saying that it could be more innovative. But a full exam includes us using our eyes and our hands for a pelvic exam. We also get cells from the cervix for a Pap smear.

Y’all be so close to the answer. Like it’s right there. For the answer, go look up the history of how paps and exams got started. Who did they test on and why. Then you’ll know why the pain is not a biprooduct but in fact the whole point.

So now let's talk about how the medical community spent YEARS pretending that HPV was not an STD because essentially they didn't want to get in the way of men's pleasure, so they pretended it was a women's problem. Once it was linked to throat cancer in men, THEN they changed their tune.

america tortures women. I hate it here. I was given Tylenol and Advil after a full shoulder replacement AND they left my arm in the wrong position so I could not sleep at all and cried all night. this was 3 years ago
