@nbcdigitalnews: NUDO's MP, Vetaruhe Kandorozu, questioned Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare, why 70% of heads of mission appointed to represent Namibia in foreign countries are from one tribe. Kandorozu was referring to new ambassadors who were appointed by President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah recently, questioning the mechanisms used in appointing them. He believes that there should be a demographic balance in such decisions. "For how long will we continue to witness this injustice, unfairness, and exclusion of other Namibians from representing our country in various roles? Even if they are from the ruling party, we don't have a problem. You can make selections, but the balanced structure must ensure that fair and democratic management is applied." Dr. Ngurare explains that the appointment process has not yet been finalised. He, however, made it clear that heads of mission are not appointed on the basis of ethnic group but on their experience and expertise. "I think you will agree with me that it is a diplomatic service, and expertise would also be one of those criteria, as well as experience. And of course, in the geopolitical space where we are, one equally has to have regard to ensure that you are deploying those equally with the requisite expertise. But as I said in the first instance, the process is not complete.
