Book review: Gray After Dark by Noelle W. Ihli Okay, this one had me completely hooked. I loved the suspense and the way the story flips between Brent and Miley’s timelines. The setting alone gave me chills, that eerie wooden house buried deep in the loblolly pines, right in the heart of the Frank Church wilderness — it’s the perfect backdrop for a story that keeps you guessing right to the end. I read and listened to this one, and honestly, both were equally gripping. The audiobook pulled me straight in, and the physical read was just as unputdownable as the last Ihli book I devoured — Ask for Andrea. . . . Miley, after losing her mum and injuring her shoulder takes time out from her Olympic dreams to work at a posh resort in the woods. Whilst out running ( away from the death of her mum, and Brent, the boy she refuses to admits she loves) Miley is approached by two wild men. Frank and Hamish want Miley, and they won’t let her go… If you’re after something tense, unpredictable, and deliciously creepy for spooky season, this is a must-read.
