Pretty sure this was inspired by a line fron the Republic Commando novel Hard Contact by Karren Travis. 2 members of a republic commando squad were pinned down in a field by a Mandalorian sniper so the Sargent pretended to be hit in order to draw him out finish the kill and was screaming for his training Sargent, leaving the sniper to come to this conclusion that he was screaming for the closest thing he had to a parent. The Sniper who had a deep respect for Jango didn’t want to see someone of such a family like the clones wanted to honor them and not make him suffer but it was a ruse and he was then killed.

I believe in the comics it was stated that Rex would do his best when clones under him died to send cards detailing stuff the clones did to troopers in different legions and corps who knew them during training on kamino

In one of the Commando Books a clone has to pretend to be injured but realised he can't cry out for his parents so to draw out the Mando he's fighting he starts screaming for his drill sergeant since he has the closest thing to a father he ever had 😢

I always loved the idea that I saw on here a year or so back that shaktii would walk through the halls of kamino and sing for the clones to help them sleep. letting them call her mom and come to her for help with things
