@stepsandstocks: Replying to @Quick Max loss for cash secured puts is simply the most you would lose if the underlying stock went to zero minus the premium. #optiontrading #optionstrader #options #financialliteracy #TikTokLearningCampaign

I’m hoping you’re using “Limit” orders, not “Market” like in your example?

Why do you use Fidelity? Do you trust more a third party than a bank with your money?

Now you still own the stock, no matter what it drops to, correct?

Right, max loss is unlikely, but some kind of loss likely about 25% of the time (but this can be managed).

Can you be assigned anytime avgo goes below your strike or only at expiration?

Maybe a dumb question, but wouldn’t the max loss only apply if you were assigned the shares? So if AVGO stays above $330 and you’re not assigned, then the max loss wouldn’t even be applicable, correct?

The “max loss” when selling options is technically less than when you just buy the stock, because at least when you sell options, you receive a premium that you keep. If you just buy the stock and it goes to zero, you lose everything. Hope this helps anybody that is worrying about losing money trading options.

Everyone has a percentage gain goal on premium. Do you look for 2% in general?

isn't that also the of purchasing the stock at your strike price so even if it did go to 0 you would own 100 shares of the stock
